Israel Issues High Terror Alert For Goa, India

Jerusalem ---- December 13 ..... The following terrorism alert warning was communicated by the Israel Prime Minister's Media Adviser and the Israel Government Press Office to the Israel News Agency.

In light of terrorist threats by Al-Qaida in India, a concrete threat now exists specifically for the India State of Goa, which hosts many tourists, among them Israelis, during late December and over the civil New Year. Those traveling to Goa, India in the next few weeks will be under serious threat of Al-Qaida terrorist attacks.

The Israel National Security Council Counter Terrorism HQ recommends that Israel citizens avoid – as much as possible – staying at sites in Goa State during the upcoming weeks.

This is a list of significant Al Qaida terrorist attacks from the first on the World Trade Center in New York until that in London on 7 July. It does not include all Al Qaida terrorist attacks. Some of those listed were directly linked to Bin Laden or other Al Qaida leaders, but many were conducted by terrorists inspired by Al Qaida. During this period several planned attacks which might have led to significant loss of life have also been prevented, most notably a planned attack on Strasbourg Christmas Market in December 2000 and other terror attacks planned a year earlier against targets in the US and Jordan.

On 26 Feb 1993 USA (New York) First World Trade Center bombing planned by Al Qaida agent Ramzi Youssef. Six people were killed, over 1000 injured. On 11 Dec 94 Philippines Small bomb on Philippines Airlines flight; one Japanese businessman killed, 10 people injured.

On 29 July 95 France (Paris and Lyon) 4-month bombing campaign. Terror attacks on the Paris metro, the Arc de Triomphe and outside a Jewish school in Lyon. On 13-Nov-95 Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) car bombs went off at a military compound. On 18-Sep-97 Egypt(Cairo) terrorists attacked a tourist bus. Nine Germans and one Egyptian were killed. On 17-Nov-97 Egypt (Luxor) gunmen attack tourists. Over 70 were killed by Al Qaida.

In 7 August 1998 Kenya (Nairobi) and Tanzania (Dar-es-Salaam) an Al Qaida truck bomb attack took place against US embassies. Over 200 people murdered, thousands injured. On 12-Oct-00 an Al Qaida Yemen Boat bomb terror attack on the USS Cole took place in the port of Aden. Seventeen US soldiers were killed, 39 wounded.

On 11 September 2001 USA (New York and Washington) Al Qaida hijacked planes and crashed them into the two World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon. A fourth plane crashed into a field near Pittsburgh. Over 3000 were murdered.

On 11 April 2002 Tunisia Vehicle bomb attack against a Jewish synagogue on the resort island of Djerba. Twenty one people were killed. On 8 May 02 Pakistan (Karachi) an Al Qaida bomb terror attack against bus carrying French engineers took place near the Sheraton Hotel. On 14 July 02 Pakistan (Karachi) a truck bomb attack against US Consulate. Tweleve people were killed, 51 injured. On 6-Oct-02 Yemen Boat bomb attack against French oil tanker MV Limburg off Ash Shahir port. 1 killed.

On 12 October 2002 Indonesia (Bali) terror attacks against US Consulate, Sari Club and Paddy's Bar. Two hundred and two people were murdered, including 26 Britons.

On 28 Nov 02 Kenya (Mombasa) an attack on an Israel - owned hotel. Twelve people were murdered. Surface-to-air missile launched at Israel airliner the same day. On 12-May-03 Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) terror attacks at three compounds housing expatriates. Over 30 people killed. On 16 May 2003 Morocco (Casablanca) multiple suicide terror bombings against Spanish club, hotel and sites. 45 dead, 100 injured. On 5 Aug 03 Indonesia Vehicle bomb attack against Marriott Hotel. Twelve killed, 100 injured.

On 8 November 2003 Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) Major vehicle terror bomb attack against residential compound housing mainly expatriate workers from other Arab countries. 17 murdered, over 80 injured.

On 15 Nov 03 Turkey (Istanbul) two vehicle bomb attacks at a Jewish synagogue. On 20 November 2003 Turkey (Istanbul) two vehicle bombs exploded at the HSBC Bank and British Consulate. Together with 15 Nov attack, over 60 people murdered (including 2 Britons). On 11 March 2004 Spain (Madrid) terror bomb attacks against 4 trains. Terrorists blew themselves up when confronted by police. 199 killed.

On 1 May 2004 Saudi Arabia (Yanbu) terror attack took place on expatriate oil workers. Six foreign nationals and 1 Saudi killed. On 30 May 05 Saudi Arabia (Al Khobar) 4 attacks in Al Khobbar target oil companies and compound. 9-Sep-04 Indonesia (Jakarta) Vehicle bomb outside Australian Embassy. 9 killed, over 100 injured. 8-Oct-04 Egypt Large explosions at Hilton Hotel in Taba and at 2 campsites in the Sinai area. Over 30 killed.

On 28-Oct-04 Pakistan (Islamabad) explosion at the Marriott Hotel. 7 injured. 19 Mar 05 Qatar (Doha) Vehicle bomb attack outside the Doha Players' Theatre. One (British national) killed, 12 injured. On 07-Apr-05 Egypt (Cairo) a terro attack took place near the tourist bazaar in Cairo. Two French nationals and one American killed, 18 injured.

On 30 April 05 Egypt (Cairo) a tourist bus was fired on in Cairo. Eight people were injured.

On 07 July 2005 UK (London) 4 explosions shook England - three in tube trains, one in a bus. At least 52 dead, 700 were injured.
