Leyden Seeks VC Funding for Online Reputation PR

New
York --- June 14, 2012 ... His name may not be known to many outside
of Jewish and Israel PR circles but his impact on the Internet
has been felt by millions worldwide since he co-created the first
commercial Website in Israel in 1995.
Joel
Leyden, who first communicated with wireless devices at the age
of 11 using Amateur Radio and Morse code, has taken on the Iranians,
Palestinians and Syrians defending democracy in the Middle East.
Leyden co-created the
cyber unit for the Israel Defense Forces, serves as a senior media
consultant to the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has lectured
the US State Department on social media.
"The
fields of online reputation management and PR are exploding,"
says Leyden, the CEO of OnlineReputationPr.com.
"We
have more people online today than ever with over 900 million
using social media platforms Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. We
are all wired. No matter where you look you see people standing
and looking as if they are praying when they are actually checking
their email and texting on their iPhones. And because of this
we have more people talking about people. Both good and bad. But
it is the bad that we need to address."
Joel
Leyden who has been the target
of anti-Israel bloggers, knows the feeling of being attacked
online.
"Anybody
can say anything about anyone," says Leyden. "And if
they are knowledgeable in the field of SEO - search engine optimization
- what they say can travel further on the Internet. One can buy
a domain name with a person's name in it and use it. Unless it
is being used in what is referred to as Fair Use for educational
purposes, it would be breaching copyright and considered by most
as cyberstalking. Google does an excellent job in removing hate
Websites in it's search engine but they can't remove everything
all of the time. And that is where online reputation management
and PR kick in."
Leyden
explains that many clients come to him complaining that someone
has attacked them online in either a personal and or business
nature. Leyden and his team listen and then take immediate action.
"The
Internet is saturated with places where one can attack a person
or business," says Joel Leyden. "From Wikipedia to business
review sites such as Yelp, Tripadvisor, Insiderpages.com and Google
Maps for hotels, restaurants, entertainment and shopping - there
is no limit where and how false information can hurt people."
"We
secure domain names, create SEO rich Websites, blogs and provide
a strong presence on social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn,
Google+ and Twitter," says Leyden. "Within hours we
can be addressing those who are attacking our clients and make
a real difference on Google, Yahoo, Bing, AOL and other search
engines. Within days we can start to control what people view
about our clients. It's important. For a good reputation can be
destroyed in days and we have the years of experience and skills
to protect our clients."
Leyden
is asked if he truly has any competition.
"It
may appear that we do when you search for the terms online reputation
management in Google," says Leyden. "But in reality
I don't see one company out there doing what we do. If I could
give credit to anyone it would be to Michael Fertik of Reputation.com.
Michael is an attorney turned entrepreneur who works hard and
has taken a good idea to a better place. But even he and his organization
are not sitting down with AP, Reuters, New York Times, CNN,
Le Monde or the Times of London to support their clients.
They are totally online where my organization has implemented
integrated marketing and PR - working online and off to create
the perfect and most powerful media mix for our clients. After
all, CNN, FOX News, AFP, Bloomberg and AP are not
just hitting the print and broadcast mediums but their news and
feature stories are coming right back to this computer online.
You need to work both - the conventional and the online to create
the most potent and effective solution for your clients."
The
New York Times in a recent story Erasing the Digital
Past reports that online image fixers are not entirely new.
They say that for years, big corporations and those with financial
stakes in their Internet Web presence have employed online PR
professionals to edit their online reputation - often as part
of a variety of services offered by a large public relations firm,
lawyers or image consultants.
During the economic collapse in 2008, Wall Street bankers hired
online specialists to protect their good names, says the Times.
Celebrities
and politicians embrace the online reputation market as well as
everyday people living more of their lives online, whether its
blogging about dinner, dating or posting vacation and or business
photos on Facebook, the downside to oversharing online is becoming
overwhelming for many.
Leyden,
who feels as comfortable with source code as he does with a news
release, says that he is now negotiating with several VC and technology
investment groups seeking to secure over 20 million dollars to
expand his global online PR operations.
"Their
is no dispute as to the growth of the online reputation management
and PR market," says Leyden. "It's just a matter of
finding the right and creative professionals who can talk HTML,
SEO and ORM in the same breath."
