Israeli Woman Are Shot by Cowardly Terrorist Snipers

3.....Two Israeli woman were attacked by terrorist sniper fire
shortly after 4:00 p.m. today. Islamic terrorists targeted the
two civilians from the Abu Sneneh hills outside Ma'arat HaMachpela.
A 38 year old woman from Ramat Gan was hit in the chest and is
reported to be in moderate to serious condition. A second woman,
19 years old from the Beit v'Gan neighborhood of Jerusalem was
hit in the leg and was slightly wounded. Both women were taken
to Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem.
The shooting
occurred in the midst of the Hebron Succot Music Festival, which
began earlier in the afternoon. Thousands of people from all over
Israel arrived in Hebron to celebrate the Succot holiday, worshiping
at Ma'arat HaMachpela and visiting the Jewish neighborhoods in the
city. The music festival, featuring Hassidic performers, takes place
on a large stage in the plaza outside Ma'arat HaMachpela.
Despite the
terror attack, Hebron's leadership decided to continued the music
festival tomorrow, as planned.
Spokesmen in
Hebron stated: "The Sharon Government must now give a green
light to the IDF to take all measures necessary to stop the shooting
in Hebron. First and foremost, the hills must be taken back under
Israeli control." Colonel Dror Weinberg, commander of the Hebron
brigade, told Hebron leaders that the IDF will take all measures
necessary to allow the music festival to continue tomorrow, as planned.
"We will
not acquiesce to Arafat's terror," said a statement from the
Hebron Press Office.
