Hatikvah, a Facebook group with
over 53,000 members, was created in March 2010 as a pro-Israel
page (facebook.com/hatikvah1).
Since its creation, the Hatikvah group has followed a policy of
non censorship regarding news coming from Israel.
As
the creator of Hatikvah, I and the administrators who work on
this Facebook group, cover a wide variety of news and get it out
before any one else does. I trust my admins, who are professional
journalists, bloggers and are located around the four corners
of the globe, to provide us 24/7 news. When something is happening,
you can be sure to see it on Hatikvah first.
Hatikvah
has recently posted in commemoration of Yom Ha'Shoah (Holocaust
Memorial Day) hundreds of graphic pictures of the Holocaust. Each
one of them remind us of the horror committed during the Nazi
regime. But one picture especially created a whole fury for which
a few people among our own Jewish and Christian community implored
to delete it for reasons of "dignity".
Dignity?
What about all the thousands of photographs of people gazed, murdered
and piled up on stretchers or thrown in mass graves, do they have
some sense of dignity?
At
first I didn't understand why this picture shocked people more
than any of the other shocking pictures. Apparently a picture
of naked woman being humiliated by Nazi thugs is more atrocious
than pictures of naked, dead Jews piled up in ditches.
Why?
Is it because a picture is showing some nudity or because the
person can be identified? Or is it because too many people are
in the assumption that the Nazi killing machine was so orderly
and sophisticated? Or is it hitting closer to home because it
is personal that it seems so real.
The
Nazi killing machine wasn't so orderly. A lot of cruelty happened
since before the very first doorbell sounded. Jews were dragged
out their homes, raped and murdered on the spot.
Facebook group Hatikvah illustrates naked Jewish
women, some holding infants,
waiting in a line before their murder by Ukrainian Nazi auxilliary
police.
People implored me to delete this picture, but I choose not to.
It was a difficult decision but a lot of challenging decisions
aren't always popular.
I can't and will not censor any image of the Holocaust and I can't
censor any testimonial, historical fact which defines a war crime.
This Jewish woman represents every woman who suffered such humiliation.
In response to all the critics to why I did leave this shocking
picture online, I have one reason why I didn't: "I don't
see a naked woman. I only saw the cruelty of the oppressors.
Nudity,
worse than photos of thousands of dead Holocaust victims? Some
say that this Newsweek
front cover photo of a Vietnam girl suffering from Napalm bombing
ended the Vietnam war.
In
the coming days, Hatikvah will be uploading many more graphic
photos of Holocaust victims, members of the Israel Defense Forces
(IDF) and Israel terror victims. As many know, the period between
Holocaust Memorial Day, IDF and Terror Victims Remembrance Day
and Israel Independence Day are filled with reflection as to the
suffering and sacrifices made by the Jewish people. If any of
the images we upload offend anyone, we can only apologize but
state clearly that these images reflect reality. A reality which
needs to be illustrated while the Jewish Nation must contend with
those in Iran, Syria, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other terror states
and organizations deny the very existence of the Holocaust.
Thousands
of Jewish children were shot, gassed during the Holocaust.
What do Holocaust deniers have to say? Never happened!
At
the same time, Hatikvah will post other Israel, Middle East regional
news and features and will promote business networking for the
Jewish community. Joel Leyden, a respected international media
consultant and journalist and I have created Jewish
Business Networking for social media that will bring Jewish
business men and women together from New York, Toronto, Chicago
and LA to London, Paris, Madrid and Tel Aviv.
Though
it might be more in our comfort zone to develop global business
connections for Israel and the Jewish world, we should never forget
nor stop honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the
Jewish nation and for Israel. The Jewish nation survives as we
shall never give up. We shall never succumb to becoming victims.
We will prosper, remember and truly be a light onto all nations.

Neturei Karta cult."
