Jerusalem,
Israel --- October 20, 2012 ... Another Islamic Jihad, Syria and
Iran backed propaganda boat was boarded today by the Israel Defense
Forces.
The
Estelle, a European ship sailing to the Gaza Strip to try to break
Israels security blockade which was created to prevent the
distribution of Hamas terror weapons was escorted to the Israeli
city of Ashdod. The Hamas bound boat was not carrying any humanitarian
aid and their goal was to divert media attention away from the
30,000 civilians murdered in Syria and Iran's attempt to build
a nuclear weapon.
The
International Red Cross has declared that there is no humanitarian
crisis in Gaza.
"There
is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza," said Mathilde Redmatn,
deputy head of the Red Cross in Gaza. "If you go to the supermarket,
there are many products. There are luxury restaurants and a nice
beach. Israel has the legitimate right to protect their civilian
population against terrorism."
Gaza receives tons of fresh food, medicine and supplies on a daily
basis by the UN and Israel. Over 250 trucks enter Gaza from Israel
on a daily basis and the border between Gaza and Egypt is open.
Essential food products including meat, chicken and fish, grains
and legumes, fresh vegetables, dairy products, oil, flour, salt
and sugar, in addition to animal feed, hygiene products, clothing,
medicines and medical supplies are among the goods that are regularly
delivered to Gaza.
The pro Islamic
Jihad PR team on the ship, the Estelle, includes five members
of European parliaments and a former lawmaker from Canada.
The IDF team
will turn the Islamic Jihad, Hamas PR team over to the Israel
police for deportation.
Israel created
a naval blockade on Gaza in 2009, to stop the smuggling of weapons
into the Palestinian ruled area. These weapons coming from Iran
and Syria included over 5,000 terror rockets which have been fired
from Gaza into Israeli towns and cities.
The IDF -
Israel Defense Forces said that the boarding was carried
out in accordance with international law and after repeated
attempts to deter the ship (through direct contact with passengers
and diplomatic channels) were unsuccessful.
Israel Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the operation and condemned
the attempt to break the blockade.
The
people who were on the ship also know that there is no humanitarian
crisis in Gaza, and they aim only to provoke and blacken Israels
name. If human rights were truly important to these activists,
they would sail to Syria. We shall continue to defend our borders.
