BBC:
Jerusalem Does Not Exist

Jerusalem,
Israel --- July 24, 2012 ... For the last week, the BBC has been
reporting that Israel has no capital.
As for the Palestinians, the BBC had East Jerusalem listed as
their capital on their Olympics Website. Which brings us to the
great BBC mystery. How is it that the Palestinians who have no
government and never had a government have a capital?
And where did the city of Jerusalem
disappear to?
If
one looks very carefully under the Islamic Jihad propaganda rock,
you might just find Jerusalem sitting there with millions of people.
Residential and commercial buildings, temples, churches, mosques,
schools, government buildings, parking lots, trees, squirrels,
trains, an airport, shopping malls and parks.
All
of it under the legal rule of the State of Israel.
Jerusalem
has been the legal, historical, cultural and religious Capital
of Israel for over 3,000
years.
Does
anyone remember King David and his son Solomon who built the first
Temple in 1010 B.C.E.?
Is there any mention of Palestinians? Or was that an invention
created by Egyptian born Yasser Arafat in 1964?
Jerusalem
has been the modern Capital of Israel since 1948. In 1980, the
Israeli parliament passed its Basic Law, in which it reiterated
the legal status of Jerusalem within Israeli jurisprudence as
the undivided capital of Israel and the place of residence for
Israeli governmental and other state institutions.
International
law experts such as Steven Schwebel, Eli Lanterpacht or Yehuda
Blum provide concrete legal arguments for Israel for her claims.
Israel has much better claims to sovereignty over East Jerusalem,
since the Six Day War that Israel won was a defensive war on her
part and therefore the territories, which were acquired in this
war, do not fall under the category of an unlawful occupation.
Jordan has
rescinded its claims to the West Bank in the Peace Treaty of 1994
and therefore there is no other claimant who could outweigh Israeli
claims to the city.
As for Palestinians,
they have never in history formed a separate state and presented
a sense of Palestinian nationhood and only recently did they claim
Jerusalem for their capital, whereas Jews, since the establishment
of the city by King David, did. Following those arguments, Israeli
side claims that the status of Jerusalem is non-negotiable and
Israel holds exclusive sovereignty over the city.
Jihad propaganda:
there is no Israel.
Fact: Jerusalem is the capital of the only democracy in the Middle
East.
Does BBC report
fact or propaganda?
The BBC bias
is nothing new to Israel. We truly don't expect anything objective
from the BBC. But the real crime being perpetrated here is not
so much one of legal and national pride as one of pure incitement.
What better
propaganda tool can the BBC give to Islamic Jihad, Hamas, Hezbollah
and Iran than to deny that Jerusalem is, has and will remain the
capital of Israel?
The BBC is
actually feeding fuel to real incitement against Israel, against
Jews and Christians in a war of Islamic Jihad. We are talking
terrorism and violence against the only democracy in the Middle
East. Against all Western, democratic nations.
Lastly, if
the BBC does not recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, then
how can BBC producers, editors and reporters walk around with
Israel Government Press Office cards that are issued in a nonexistent
capital?
It seems to
me that the GPO should suspend those Israeli Government Press
cards as they simply do not exist!
