Jerusalem
--- January 18, 2009...... As Israel continues to defend herself
against Hamas terror attacks and the world economy suffers from
a global recession, Israel's largest graduate MBA admissions
consulting company Aringo is securing a record number of MBA
clients. Aringo, based in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, works in cooperation
with admissions committees at top universities around the world.
"Our
solid reputation and professional MBA consultants are overshadowing
both the current recession and the defensive war with Hamas
in Gaza," says Gilam Levy, General Manager of Aringo.
"As
a few schools now look with caution as to working with Israel
in Israel during the current conflict, we are preparing students
to get into the finest MBA schools in Europe and North America.
And all of these MBA student candidates share another goal in
common - returning to Israel to put their knowledge to work
for businesses in Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Haifa, Jerusalem, Hadera,
Ashkelon and Rishon Lezion.
Aringo
MBA consulting professionals have the opportunity to make a
difference in the careers of some of Israels most talented
individuals says Levi. "We help them gain entrance to the
worlds top 10 business schools including Harvard and Stanford.
Aringo has a very proud track record of securing placements
in the most elite MBA schools. And many Olim who have made Aliya
to Israel come to us seeking professional positions and we assist
them here in Israel in providing employment."
Most
of Aringo's clients return to live in Israel within a few years
after graduation. They bring professional knowledge and contacts
that strengthen the Israeli economy.
Aringo
was founded by Gilam Levi. Gilam was accepted to the Harvard,
Wharton and INSEAD business schools, received a full scholarship
to Wharton and graduated with honors. He was also a member of
the Wharton admission committee. In 1998 he decided to help
Israeli candidates to get into the top programs and in 2002
this hobby turned into a full-time professional occupation.
Gilam dedicates most of his time to researching and supervising
the Aringo services, communicating with admission committees
all around the world and forming the Aringo process for the
next application season.
Since
its foundation Aringo has helped hundreds of students to get
accepted to the best business schools and MBA programs around
the world.
Aringo
deals with the top MBA programs in the US and Europe such as
Harvard, INSEAD, Wharton, Stanford.
The
coaching which Aringo provides is individual for each MBA student
candidate. Each candidate has a personal guide which Aringo
calls an "editor".
"Our
process is the most thorough process in the world and it creates
a significant advantage in creating the resumes, application
essays, recommendations and interview preparation. The editors
are proficient in the MBA application documents and are supported
by Aringo experts ("content analysts") in specific
types of essays and by a school requirements specialist. Gilam
is in charge of the research and the development of the process
every season," says Levi.
Aringo
editors spend much of their time writing and editing. In addition,
they work personally with MBA student clients, interviewing
them to help them prepare all the documents stated above.
Due
to the ethical requirements of the universities, Aringo doesn't
write essays for clients. They write recommendation drafts,
edit essays and help clients with pre-writing brainstorming
and outlining.
Aringo
is a small company with about 10 editors plus a few more employees
who provide the administrative network.
Aringo
seeks native English speakers who have an academic degree, strong
analytical skills and great interpersonal relations. Writing,
editing, translating and other freelancer experience and traits
are great benefits. "We see great potential in anyone who
recently made Aliyah from the US, the UK, Canada, South Africa
- any English speaking country and are willing to give her a
chance to go through our recruiting process," says Levi.
Levi also states that due to increasing enrollment, Aringo is
expanding their professional staff.
The
full process includes four steps an initial resume screening,
a writing audition and a general information questionnaire and
two interviews which simulate the actual work with the client.
Each of these stages is relevant for a different aspect of the
position. Aringo personally contacts the candidates who passed
the first stage and update them constantly about their status.
They know this process might seem a bit intimidating, but the
payment for those who eventually join us is highly competitive.
Aringo
editors work from home. Some of them conduct meetings with their
clients at their homes and some work only via the phone and
the e-mail.
Aringo's
professional staff work as independent services providers which
allows them flexibility and easy involvement in other projects
in parallel to their work with Aringo. There's also an option
to join Aringo as an employee and get all the legal benefits,
but the payment in that case is lower.
During
the first 6 months with Aringo, editors undergo on-the-job,
paid-for training of around 100 hours.
Since
Aringo works according to the MBA programs application deadlines
of the universities the hours vary during the year. The average
case of the yearly breakdown of working hours goes as follows:
During July-mid January: it's our high season the editors
work around 30 plus weekly hours (possibly more in September-October,
possibly less in November-December). During February-June: around
5-15 weekly hours, it's a good time to take a vacation.
Since
the job is done from home the hours are very flexible.
"Our
clients might prefer to talk to us in the evenings or on weekends,
but there are special rates to work which is done after hours
so you're rewarded accordingly. For this reason the job is perfect
for housewives who look for some occupation during the day or
to freelancers who enjoy to work from home and be in charge
of their own schedule, without the demanding atmosphere of working
in an office," says Levi.
Aringo
works together with the MBA applicant clients either in-person
or by phone on the documents. This takes up about 25% - 50%
of the total work hours. Significant parts of the work are also
carried out over the phone or via e-mail.
